Two questions decide it: what you are installing, and whether the floor is already down.
| Floor covering | Pre-fit | Retrofit |
|---|---|---|
| LVT, LVP & sheet vinyl | KT-AKT-BKT-CKT-DKT-EKT-FKT-H | KT-GKT-IKT-KKT-LKT-M |
| Laminate | KT-H | KT-GKT-IKT-M |
| Wood flooring | KT-H | KT-GKT-IKT-KKT-LKT-M |
| Ceramic tile | – | KT-GKT-IKT-KKT-LKT-M |
| Natural stone | – | KT-I |
| Carpet | KT-H | KT-J |
Pre-fit profiles go in while the floor is being laid: the anchoring leg sits under the covering, so the profile ends up flush and the fixing stays out of sight. Retrofit profiles are fitted over the joint of a floor that is already finished.
