SLC Square Installation Guide

How to Assemble

Tools Needed: Wet Saw, Angle Grinder, Tape Measure, Pencil, Chalk Line, and Rubber Mallet

Ideal Installation Temperature: 10°C to 28°C (50°F to 83°F)

  1. Clean, level subfloor before installation
    Ensure the subfloor or existing flooring is completely clean and level.
  2. Installer setting the first tile square to the wall
    Install the first tile, making sure it sits perfectly square with the adjacent walls.
  3. Tiles interlocking along the first row
  4. Installer completing the first row
  5. Continue installing, interlocking the tiles to the right until the row is complete.
  6. Starting the second row of tiles
  7. Checking that the tiles remain perfectly square
  8. Once the first row is complete, start the next row from the beginning, checking constantly to ensure the tiles remain perfectly square.
  9. Measuring a perimeter tile with a tape measure and pencil
    Measure and cut the perimeter tiles to size as needed.
  10. Cutting a tile with an angle grinder
    Tiles can be cut cleanly using a standard tile cutter or an angle grinder.
  11. Trimming the polyurethane backing with a jigsaw
    Trim the polyurethane (PUR) backing easily using a jigsaw equipped with a laminate blade.
  12. Expansion gap between perimeter tile and wall
    Fill any remaining expansion gaps between the perimeter tiles and the wall with silicone caulk.
